For a Florida owner, the useful response is to ask what was measured, which product requirements apply and how the shop will protect the schedule without rushing the coating. Understanding dew point makes that conversation much easier. Dew point answers a different question from the forecast The National Weather Service's South Florida explanation identifies dew point as the temperature associated with condensation. Relative humidity, meanwhile, changes with air temperature. The two figures describe related conditions, but they are not interchangeable. Rhino Linings and Line-X VS ArmorThane

Comparing Line-X and Rhino to ArmorThane…Why ArmorThane is worth more than the two combined! In years gone by (think early 2000's), the most obvious answer to the question, "Which bedliner company is best?" was Line-X. Line-X installers were using the best application process from the very beginning (most Rhino installers started with an inferior cold application process), Line-x offered a national warranty on their product years before Rhino, and Line-X liners tended to be better looking that Rhino liners that often had runs, inconsistent thickness etc. But that's all changed. Today, many Rhino liner installers use the exact same process that Line-X installers use and chemically similar products, meaning the difference between the two can be minimal. However, ArmorThane has never stopped bettering themselves. Everything from the chemical to the methods used to ensure coloration, ArmorThane has fine-tuned. While Rhino and Line-X dealers will both try and claim...

Truck Side Advertising – Isn’t It Time?

I want to talk about to things that are quite important to me.  There are love and one my personal inadequacies.  The thing is that I’m quite fond of love, I think that it’s a pretty all right deal.  However, I’m going to have to admit that my emotional baggage has built up walls that not even a shock and awe campaign could bring down.  But I do love.  And in fact I even love unconditionally.  I have a truck.  It’s kind of a small truck, but I’m comfortable with myself so that’s okay.  I think that I love it.  I had a friend about a year ago ask me if I could have any car in the world what would I have.  And aside from pointing out that my friend and I have clearly ran out of things to discuss and should probably go our separate ways, my answer told me that I love my truck (obviously I said I would keep my truck).  The thing is that its pretty old, almost 10 years.  And it seems to attract trouble, it was broken into t...

Spray-on polyurea for Florida trucks

Bedliners built for Florida.

Sun that bakes a bed all afternoon, salt air on the coast, summer storms and sandy launch ramps. A seamless spray-applied polyurea liner bonds to the bed itself, so there is nothing to trap water or shift under a load. Read how it works, then let an ArmorThane applicator near you quote your truck.

Why spray-on

Tough on the outside, sealed underneath.

A drop-in plastic liner sits on top of the paint. In Florida that gap collects rainwater, sand and salt, and the liner can rub through the finish over time. A sprayed polyurea liner is applied directly to the prepared bed, filling every rib and corner so there is no space left for moisture to sit.

Polyurea cures fast and stays flexible, which helps it absorb impacts from tools, coolers and gear instead of cracking. Ask your applicator about a UV-stable topcoat, because aromatic liners can fade in strong sun without one.

How it is done

The installation process.

01

Prep

The bed is cleaned, scuffed and masked so the liner bonds to sound metal and stops on a clean line. Good prep matters more than anything sprayed after it.

02

Spray

Plural-component equipment heats and mixes the polyurea at the gun. It goes on in passes to build thickness evenly across the floor, walls and corners.

03

Detail

Masking comes off, edges are checked and any topcoat goes on. Ask how long to wait before loading the bed and what cleaning it needs.

Humidity, bed temperature and surface moisture all affect adhesion, which is a big deal in a Florida summer. Trained applicators plan for it, often spraying indoors and checking conditions before they start.

Heat, UV, salt

Durable protection built to last.

  • Heat: a dark bed in direct sun gets very hot. Polyurea stays flexible across a wide temperature range instead of going brittle.
  • UV: sunlight breaks down unprotected coatings. A UV-stable topcoat slows fading and chalking.
  • Salt air: a bonded, seamless liner leaves no gap for salty moisture to sit against the bed.
  • Sand & water: no edges to lift, so a hose-down clears the bed after the beach or the ramp.

Made to fit

Custom solutions for every truck.

Short beds, long beds, work trucks with racks, lifted weekend rigs and utility trailers all get sprayed to their own shape. The same coating can go on bumpers, rocker panels, trailer decks or a Jeep tub for owners who live on sand and salt.

Tell the applicator how you use the truck, whether that is hauling job-site gear, towing a boat or loading kayaks, and they can suggest coverage and texture to match.

Questions

Answering your bedliner questions.

Do bedliners fade faster in Florida?

Strong year-round UV speeds up fading of aromatic liners. An aliphatic topcoat is the usual fix.

Can humidity affect the install?

Yes. Moisture on the substrate can hurt adhesion, so applicators check conditions and may work indoors.

Will a liner stop salt corrosion?

A bonded liner helps seal covered areas, but exposed underbody metal still needs washing and care.

How often should I rinse the bed?

After beach trips and boat launches, a freshwater rinse helps remove salt and sand.

Is a dark liner hot in summer?

Dark surfaces absorb more heat in direct sun. Lighter colors or topcoats stay cooler.

Where do I find a Florida installer?
